Geotechnical Engineering Overview

Dunkelberger offers comprehensive geotechnical services ranging from site exploration/ characterization, including laboratory soils testing, to design recommendations for foundations, floor slabs, pavements, borrow, and ponds.

Our exploratory capability covers urban parcels for high-rise buildings, on water locations for bridges and subaqueous pipelines, existing and new alignments for roadways, and large agricultural tracts for residential development and infrastructure.

Our Dams and Water Resources Division has engineers and geologists experienced in site investigations, detailed design (including seepage and stability modeling), development of detailed construction plans and specifications, and construction quality assurance/quality control for a variety of water supply reservoirs and mine waste impoundments.

Furthermore, Dunkelberger’s professional engineers offer more than 100 years of combined experience in the subsoil, geologic, and hydrogeologic conditions of Florida. That experience is complemented by expertise in state-of-the-art software applications for foundation capacity, slope/embankment stability, and groundwater flow/seepage.
