Construction Materials Testing Overview
Dunkelberger performs a wide range of engineering services during construction involving field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, aggregates, masonry, steel, and asphalt. These services typically include soil density testing, earthwork observation, concrete quality control, concrete and pavement coring, foundation load testing and fireproofing inspection. We work with public and private sector clients providing construction engineering services for quality control and quality assurance purposes to verify that constructed works are in compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
Dunkelberger's construction staff includes professional engineers and certified (CTQP) technicians with experience on major commercial, residential, high-rise, educational, roadway, industrial and utility projects. Our senior engineers have specific expertise in constructability issues for deep foundations and ground improvement techniques.

Each Dunkelberger office has a testing laboratory with current accreditation from the Construction Materials Engineering Council (CMEC). The company has also been validated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for laboratory testing of soils aggregate, concrete, bituminous, and grout materials. On large (multi-year) infrastructure projects, Dunkelberger has successfully set up on-site certified laboratories, with dedicated staff, for rapid turn-around of accurate test results keeping pace with fast-track construction schedules.
